Mercury Intermedia has been pushing the envelope for publishers since the inception of the commercial Internet.
Over the years, our desktop applications delivered unparalleled engagement for advertisers and for content owners such as Sports Illustrated, Golf Magazine and a dozen NFL teams.
The past 18 months have proven that mobile computers, such as the iPhone and Android devices, would indeed become the fourth major media platform, principally because they are always with us, easily repurposing hours of otherwise idle time for news and entertainment consumption.
Because this new computing platform and media channel expands the market for media, it is the new essential for publishers and media companies to reach consumers wherever they are, whenever they’re ready. Mobile applications are monetized by location-aware advertising that, as never before, makes acting on offers quick and easy. And, since a large number of mobile applications are sold instead of free, publishers have the option of creating premium content that can be sold - a return to pre-Internet days when consumers expected to pay for content.
The enormity of this opportunity led us to shift our focus to exclusively build applications for all five major mobile computer platforms. As in the desktop applications business, we build, market and operate re-brandable applications for key vertical markets. Our Automated Mobile Applications Platform enables us to build polished, reliable applications for less cost and in less time required for custom applications.
